Initiative: Fashion show

The Fashion show is a program that builds self-esteem, self-worth and self-respect. It promotes a concept of “There is beauty in all of us”. Models are also taught t they are wonderfully and beautifully made. We promote the ideology that they can do all things through the creator While providing encouragements and guidance’s from loving Coaches. The show is an initiative developed within the safe hands organization that serves dual purpose:

1). It is a drug Prevention initiative. Research show great results when Prevention is directed at impressionable youngsters. According to office of national drug control “Preventing or delaying use of psychoactive drugs, alcohol, and tobacco among adolescents is a critical, national public health goal. The simplest and most cost-effective way to lower the human and societal costs of drug abuse is to prevent it in the first place”

2). It is a gang prevention initiative. There are Multiple reasons why youths join a gang.. Research reveals that keeping kids busy, spending time with them helps and affirming them deter many youths from joining a gang. The fashion show serves tat purpose. Coaches are readily available to encourage and talk to models. Setting up multiple practice times in a warm loving environment helps prevent youths from joining a gang.

The fashion show is a tool for the discovery of new talents. It provides the opportunity for many who otherwise would not be able to afford a program like this. Model coordinators will teach concept of dressing which reveals each child’s body type and clothing that best suits their shape. Participant receives training and coaching in the following techniques:

Posing technique
Walking the run way
Posture
Hand and arm placement
Open show routines
Flood Runway
Hair/make-up
